Healthier Hot Cocoa (Dairy and Refined Sugar Free)

It’s that cozy time of year when curling up by the fire with a warm cup of hot cocoa feels just right. But many store-bought cocoa mixes are loaded with added sugars and artificial ingredients. That’s why I’ve created a healthier hot cocoa recipe made without dairy, refined sugars, or artificial additives.

Not only is this version delicious, but it’s also packed with goodness! The cacao provides antioxidants, the cashew milk offers healthy fats, and the Medjool dates contribute potassium, fiber, and copper—a nutrient essential for metabolic health and thyroid hormone production.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 organic Medjool dates
  • 1 heaping tbsp unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cashew milk (I use the brand Elmhurst)

Instructions

Simply blend all the ingredients in a high speed blender and enjoy!
